About

Hi, my name is Richard Ulrich.

I live in Brunnen, in central Switzerland.

I’m a software developer.

Currently I work at SEBA  Bank as a Blockchain Engineer.

Other technical interests include Bitcoin, electric cars, machine learning, cross platform development, Rust, modern C++ design, linux (especially debian derivates), arduino, electronics and electric cars.

I spend a lot of time with my young family. My wife’s name is Mirella, she’s from the Wallis in southern Switzerland. Levin, our first son was born in November 2008. Noah, the younger one was born in February 2011.

When the weather and all other factors allow for, I love to go paragliding. I used to do international competitions, but at the moment I simply don’t have the time… I still enjoy going cross country in the summer and speedflying in the winter. I do tandem flights as well, so if you want to explore the third dimension, visit: www.paraeasy.ch

You can find me at:

but not on facebook nor twitter …

You can send me encrypted eMail to richi@paraeasy.ch using the followig gpg key.

And now, I hope you enjoy my blog….

    Hi Richard,

I’ve been looking over your IntersemaBaro library for the Arduino, and I’m wondering if you could help me troubleshoot my own. I’m attempting to communicate with the MS5535C, which is similar to the pressure sensor you’ve written your library for. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to access variables D1 and D2 using your code, and when I am, they both return 65535 as a result.

Unfortunately, my computer just crashed, and I lost my code, but if you are available to communicate by e-mail I will rework my code and send it to you. Let me know 🙂

I’m trying to update the printrun-base on Ubuntu. I get the message:
WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
    printrun-base
Install these packages without verification [y/N]? y
    Get:1 http://apt.ulrichard.ch/ squeeze/main printrun-base all 0.0.15~precise [36.2 kB]

Is there a key I can download so that these updates will happen automatically?

    Thanks,
    Steve

      Hi Steve,

so far, I didn’t set up a key with the apt repository at http://apt.ulrichard.ch/ It has been on my todo list for a while now. But then again, these are mainly packages directly built by jenkins upon every commit.

On ubuntu, you’re better off using the packages from my ppa:
      https://launchpad.net/~richi-paraeasy/+archive/ppa/
Although I’m not sure if it would run at the moment. I recently merged, and didn’t test it so far. So, just tell me if you run into problems, and I ‘ll try to fix them.

      Rgds
      Richard
